Upcoming EO Event Gives Members a Chance to Learn About Tobacco Business, Cigars and Cigar Pairings

Join the owner of Ashes N Embers, Bryan Butensky, as he talks to members about some of the operational aspects of owning a tobacco-related business. Then, retire to the smoke lounge to enjoy a good drink and specific cigar pairing advice by Ashes’ on-staff certified tobacconist.

The chapter will supply drink and light snacks (although members are free to bring drink to share), and the cigars are “pay to play” as members can buy their cigars from the on-site humidor. This event is a chance to learn about the tobacco business, become educated on cigars and cigar pairings and socialize and network with fellow EO New Jersey members.

NJTC Selects RightAnswers as Innovative Technology of the Year Award Finalist

EO New Jersey member company RightAnswers, Inc. was named a finalist for the Innovative Technology of the Year Award by the New Jersey Technology Council (NJTC), the leading trade organization for New Jersey technology companies. The winner will be announced at the NJTC Awards Celebration, to be held Nov. 21, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency in Princeton, N.J.

RightAnswers has taken an innovative approach to knowledge management since its inception. The RightAnswers Unified Knowledge Platform makes it easier to manage and share knowledge throughout an organization, empowering two industries, IT support and customer service, to improve the overall service they provide. Their “Knowledge 1st” philosophy, which positions knowledge as part of an organization’s change process, inspires our clients to
transform the way they provide service and how they create and use knowledge in all departments across their organization.

The NJTC award was granted specifically for RightAnswers’ patented Intelligent Knowledge Builder™, which takes a proactive approach to knowledge creation and best practices management. It evaluates the demand for knowledge from all support channels, identifies knowledge gaps, and begins to fill these gaps by automatically creating new articles for review or completion.

Reciprocal Event Access: EO New Jersey, EO New York, EO Philadelphia

A new reciprocal event access program between the New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia chapters (participating chapters) has been launched on a trial basis.

The goal is to make it easier to attend events at our adjacent chapters and to encourage members to meet one another.

A maximum of 10 members per month may attend events at any participating chapter without charge. Note that if an event is “pay to play,” meaning that host chapter members must pay a fee, then the visiting chapter members must pay the same fee.

Guests are not included in this program. It is for chapter members in good standing only. Members cannot substitute non-members to attend events on their behalf.

PROCESS

  1. All events are listed on EOAccess. Visiting member sends host chapter administrator an email requesting to attend an event.
  2. Once approval has been received from the host chapter administrator, the visiting
chapter member must register on EOAccess but not pay guest fees (unless it’s pay to play). The chapter administrator will make the final decision. There will be no exceptions.
  3. Host chapter cancellation policy applies at all times. If you do not cancel within the
required time you will be responsible for paying cancellation fees, if any. You are
responsible for reading and understanding the cancellation policy of each event.

VERY IMPORTANT: Some smaller events have limited capacity and will be prioritized for host chapter members. The host chapter administrator will decide whether or not capacity is available for visiting chapter members. Some events may not be available to visiting chapter members until several days before the actual event to allow host chapter members priority.

This program is being offered on a trial basis for a limited time. Participating chapters reserve the right to change the terms or terminate the program at any time during this trial period. This program is not a part of general EO Global benefits and does not apply to any chapter other than the chapters listed above.

EO New Jersey Hosts Test Drive on Nov. 13

As mentioned last week, our membership chairs, John Cioffi and Ethan Kassel, are holding an “EO New Jersey Test Drive” on Nov. 13.

EO NJ Test Drive is used to show prospects what EO NJ is all about: forum, events, learning from each others’ experiences, etc.

EO NJ has not had a test drive in many years. We need your assistance in promoting this great opportunity to fellow entrepreneurs.

If you could please help identify potential members and refer them to andrea@eonewjersey.org

If you know anyone who would be a good fit, please send the message below to them. They can then register through Andrea.

You are the owner, founder, co-founder or controlling shareholder of your company. Your company has $1 million or more in annual revenue. You have great opportunities to grow your business and realize your vision, but at the same time you’re dealing with insanely complex challenges. And you haven’t quite found the right organization that shares your thirst for learning, that you trust and respect, that will help you make a mark, where you are expected to contribute your ideas at the same level as you receive ideas from others, and that is cool all at the same time.

EO NJ might just be that organization for you.

We are holding a test drive where you will get a sense of why entrepreneurs value EO. You’ll learn first-hand about forum, where you meet on a regular basis with a small group of like-minded entrepreneurs that become your trusted advisory board … and more. You will hear about our learning events, where top speakers from around the world provide advice and expertise in person with small audiences. Our current members will be there so you can hear their stories and learn what it’s like to be in EO.

Bill Bartzak Speaks to EO New Jersey in Fireside Chat

Bill Bartzak, president and CEO of MD On-Line, shared how he has consistently been named one of the fastest growing healthcare technology companies nationwide during a fireside chat with EO New Jersey at 90 Acres on Oct. 16.

Exclusively for EO NJ, Bill freely shared his strategies for continuing his growth trajectory and openly talked about the challenges and opportunities associated with being at the forefront of healthcare technology today.

Company culture and value seems to drive every decision Bill makes and, in turn, feeds into how he expands his products and services and successfully recruits, develops and retains top industry talent. Bill runs his company like a publicly traded company; he issues shares to his employees and valuates the business regularly. In fact, he has a long-standing board of advisors that he meets with regularly, and he proudly attributes much of his success to the feedback and guidance they have provided over the years.
